K&A advised Saudi Arabian Oil Company (“Saudi Aramco”) on its joint venture with the Public Investment Fund (“PIF) and Baoshan Iron and Steel Company (“Baosteel”) to enable the development of the first steel plate production facility in Saudi Arabia. The steel manufacturing project is aimed at enhancing Saudi Arabia’s domestic manufacturing sector by localizing the production of steel plates, transferring knowledge and creating export opportunities.

K&A’s work with Saudi Aramco spanned the full spectrum of legal services, including the structuring, negotiating and drafting of the relevant transaction documents and providing continued legal support and advise to date. 

The team was led by Partners Basma Khashoggi and Zeyad Khoshaim, and supported by Associates Hawa Abalkhail and Danah Ohali. 

This transaction recognizes K&A’s hands-on project development expertise and comes on the back of K&A being named the Saudi Arabian Independent Law Firm of the Year by Chambers Global.
